On November 30th, Daniel Hölbling and Florian Albrecht from Z_GIS conducted a field trip to the Fürwag landslides at the Haunsberg in Salzburg. Field photos were collected and delineations from satellite imagery were validated in the field. This landslide-prone area has been known for a long time and is characterized by two major landslides. Since the landslides were particularly active during several years at the turn of the century, they are largely overgrown with vegetation in the meanwhile. However, the dimensions of the landslides are still recognizable and quite impressive in the field.
